Major Logan Baisden

Major Logan D. Baisden is originally from Savanna, Illinois, he earned his commission in December 2012 through the University of Wisconsin-Madison NROTC program. Upon completing the Basic Officer’s Course and Combat Engineer Officer’s Course in September 2014, Second Lieutenant Baisden reported to 2d Combat Engineer Battalion and promoted to First Lieutenant shortly thereafter. While assigned to 2d CEB, 1stLt Baisden served as Platoon Commander, 2d Platoon, Company B; Platoon Commander, Assault Breaching Platoon, Mobility Assault Company; and Executive Officer, Co B.

From October 2015 to June 2016, he had the privilege of serving as the Engineer Platoon Commander, Battalion Landing Team 2/6 aboard the 26 Marine Expeditionary Unit and deployed with Task Force Spartan to Fire Base Bell/Kara Soar Counterfire Complex near Makhmour, Iraq in support of Operation VALLEY WOLF and Operation INHERENT RESOLVE from October 2015 to June 2016. In March 2017, 1stLt Baisden reported to Marine Corps Engineer School, serving as Current Operations Officer and Company Commander, Headquarters and Services Company where he promoted to Captain in October of 2017.

Capt Baisden then served as the Officer Instructor and Academics Officer, Combat Engineer Instruction Company. In July of 2020 Capt Baisden reported to Expeditionary Warfare School where he earned the 1stLt Harry L Martin Award as the outstanding Combat Engineer student. Capt Baisden reported to 8th Engineer Support Battalion, 2d Marine Logistics Group, the PIONEERS of the FMF, in July 2021 to serve as the Company Commander, Engineer Support Company. In June 2022, Captain Baisden reported to Headquarters, 2d Marine Logistics Group where he served as the Group Engineer. He promoted to Major in November 2022 and in February 2023 reported again to 8th Engineer Support Battalion where he serves as the Executive Officer.

Major Baisden’s personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal. Additional Professional Military Education includes: Marine Corps Command and Staff College Distance Education Program, Expeditionary Warfare School Distance Education Program, Advanced Expeditionary Logistics Operations Course, Joint Engineer Operations Course, Instructor Development Course, Curriculum Developer Course, Military Scrum Master, and Senior Leader’s Legal Course.

Major Baisden holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Scandinavian Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Engineering Management from Northern Illinois University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
