Brig. Gen. Juan G. Ayala, outgoing commanding general for 2nd Marine Logistics Group, is moving on to become chief of staff at United States Southern Command in Miami. Ayala successfully commanded the 2nd MLG for two years, during which time the unit supported operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. “I went to the units a lot, and I won’t forget how competent they were and how well they did,” said Ayala.
