PHILADELPHIA - First Sgt. Leon M. Banta (right), an Oil City, Pa., native and the senior enlisted advisor for the Marine detachment at the USS Somerset Commissioning Ceremony, reads the promotion warrant for Lance Cpl. Uriel Reyes Jr., a Santa Ana, Calif., native and school clerk for Headquarters and Support Company, 8th Engineer Support Battalion, 2nd Marine Logistics Group, following the commissioning ceremony of the USS Somerset at Penn’s Landing, Philadelphia, March 1, 2014. Gen. James F. Amos, the 35th Commandant of the Marine Corps, promoted Reyes from private first class to lance corporal just outside the ship.
