Executive Officer, Combat Logistics Regiment 2
Lieutenant Colonel Jared P. Fangue

Lieutenant Colonel (LtCol) Fangue is a native of Louisiana and entered the Marine Corps in January of 2007. Following entry-level training and designation as a Logistics Officer, he reported to Marine Wing Support Squadron (MWSS) 273 Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, South Carolina, as the Motor Transport Platoon Commander and deployed to Operation Iraqi Freedom 8.2. Upon the completion of his first tour in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, LtCol Fangue extended with MWSS-271 as the Korean Village Detachment Commander and provided Aviation Ground Support for Western Al-Anbar Province. Following his first deployment, LtCol Fangue returned to MWSS-273 as the Engineer Company Executive Officer and Squadron Logistics Officer supporting various company and battalion-level exercises.

 

In March 2011, LtCol Fangue reported to Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, to serve as the Logistics Officer for 1st Battalion, 2d Marines (1st Bn, 2d Mar) and deployed aboard the USS Iwo Jima (LHD-7), 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit in support of multi-lateral training exercises African Lion, Eager Lion, and various theater security cooperation training in the 5th and 6th Fleet Area of Operations. In 2014, LtCol Fangue deployed again with 1st Bn, 2d Mar, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom to Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan. During that period, LtCol Fangue was responsible for supporting numerous battalion, company, and platoon-level combat operations while maintaining base defense for all coalition forces stationed aboard the camp. LtCol Fangue concluded the deployment with the redeployment of all equipment and personnel from Camp Leatherneck and final withdrawal of the battalion.

 

In February 2015, LtCol Fangue attended the Combined Logistics Captains Career Course in Fort Lee, Virginia. Upon graduation, LtCol Fangue reported to the University of South Carolina Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) Columbia, South Carolina, as the Marine Officer Instructor and Associate Professor of Naval Science. While assigned, LtCol Fangue served as the 4th Platoon Commander, Lima Company, Officer Candidate School in the summer of 2016 and India Company Commander in the summer of 2017 aboard Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia.

 

In July 2018, LtCol Fangue reported to Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, to attend Army Command and General Staff Officer Course to complete intermediate-level school requirements.

 

In July 2019, LtCol Fangue reported back to Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, and deployed with Combat Logistics Battalion 6 as the Executive Officer in Sigonella, Italy as the Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force 20.1 Logistics Combat Element.

 

In May 2021, LtCol Fangue was assigned as the Combat Logistics Regiment (CLR) 2 Operations Officer and supported Operation Allies Refuge/Welcome from August 2021-December 2021, and subsequently was assigned as the CLR 2 Executive Officer in May 2022 where he currently resides.

 

LtCol Fangue is a graduate of Expeditionary Warfare School (Distance Education Program), Combined Logistics Captains Career Course (Resident), Tactical Logistics Operations Course, Strategic Deployment Planner’s Course, Army Command and General Staff Officer Course (Resident), and Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina.

 

LtCol Fangue’s personal awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2nd Award), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2nd award), and the Combat Action Ribbon.
