Executive Officer, Combat Logistics Regiment 2
Lieutenant Colonel George J. Aubin

Lieutenant Colonel George J. Aubin is a native of Tallahassee, FL. He graduated from The Citadel in 2007 and was commissioned in the United States Marine Corps. After completing The Basic School, he was designated a Logistics Officer. 

In August 2007 he reported to Marine Wing Support Squadron 271 (MWSS-271). He deployed to Iraq in March 2009 as a Motor Transport Platoon Commander. Following deployment, Captain Aubin was assigned as S-4 Officer and Headquarters Company Commander. In 2011, he deployed aboard the USS Gunston Hall to Central and South America with the Command Element for Security Cooperation Task Force Southern Partnership.   

From 2011-2014 Captain Aubin served as Retirement Section Head, Manpower Management Division, Headquarters Marine Corps. In 2015 he attended and graduated from resident Expeditionary Warfare School. He served as a platoon commander at Officer Candidate School during the summer 2015 cycle.

In September 2015, Captain Aubin transferred to Third Battalion, Sixth Marine Regiment. His 2015-2017 tour as Battalion Logistics Officer included the unit’s deployment as a battalion landing team for 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (24th MEU). While deployed, Captain Aubin was the logistics officer for a 400 Marine MEU detachment in Syria, supporting Special Operations and Kurdish forces for Operation Inherent Resolve. Upon return and promotion, Major Aubin served as the Logistics Officer for Sixth Marine Regiment.  

In May 2018 Major Aubin assumed duties as G-4 Operations Officer, Second Marine Division. In this capacity, he coordinated support to Global Force Management deployments and led logistics planning for the Division’s participation in exercises across Europe. 

In August 2019 Major Aubin reported to Marine Corps Logistics Operations Group (MCLOG) where he led the design and instruction for Service level training events. In his final year at MCLOG, he was assigned as MCLOG’s Operations Officer and coordinated program participation with the Fleet Marine Force and Supporting Establishment.

In May 2022, Lieutenant Colonel Aubin attended the U.S. Naval War College in Newport, RI. He graduated in June 2023 with a Master’s of Arts in Defense and Strategic Studies. In July 2023 he reported to Combat Logistics Regiment 2.  

Personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and multiple unit awards.
