Lieutenant Colonel Patrick S. Williams

Lieutenant Colonel Patrick Williams is originally from Kent, WA.  He was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps in May 2001. From June 2001 and March 2002, Second Lieutenant Williams attended The Basic School at MCB Quantico, VA and the Logistics Officers Course at Camp Johnson, NC.

In April 2002 Second Lieutenant Williams was assigned to 1st Battalion, 11th Marines where he served as the Maintenance Management Officer and Embarkation Officer. He deployed to Kuwait as part of Amphibious Task Force West (ATF-West) in January 2003 in preparation for Operation IRAQI FREEDOM-1.  He served with 1st Battalion, 11th Marines during Operation IRAQI FREEDOM – 1 from March 2003-July 2003.  In February 2004, First Lieutenant Williams was assigned to HQ Battery, 11th Marine Regiment as the Motor Transport Officer and subsequently assigned as the 11th Marines Regimental Motor Transport Officer.

In June 2005, First Lieutenant Williams was assigned to Naval Postgraduate School to the Combat Weapons Systems Curriculum.  He graduated NPS in June 2007.

In June 2007, Captain Williams was assigned to the U.S. Naval Academy as a Naval Weapons Systems Instructor.  While at USNA, he instructed midshipmen on weapons systems and engineering in the littorals, as well as supported midshipmen summer training.

In June 2009, Captain Williams was assigned to 2d MLG.  While at 2d MLG from 2009-2012, Major Williams served as the operations officer for Combat Logistics Regiment-27 (CLR-27), Company Commander with Combat Logistics Battalion-6 (CLB-6), and Operations Officer for 2d Supply Battalion.  He deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM from January 2010 – August 2010 with CLB-6, and again to Afghanistan from September 2011 – April 2012 with 2d Supply Battalion (Rein.). While deployed, Major Williams was selected to attend the Marine Corps Command and Staff College in July 2012.

In June 2013, Major Williams was assigned to HQMC Aviation as a logistics planner.  While at HQMC Aviation, he served as the logistics action officer for the USMC Group 3 UAS (RQ-21 and RQ-7) programs of record, as well as the lead for the MAGTF Logistics Integration (MLI) initiative with HQMC Installations and Logistics (I&L).

In June 2015, Major Williams was assigned to 11th MEU as the Logistics (S-4) Officer.  While at 11th MEU, Maj Williams deployed as part of the 11th MEU / MAKIN ISLAND Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) from October 2016 – May 2017.  From July 2017-February 2020, Lieutenant Colonel Williams was assigned to HQMC Plans, Policies, & Operations (PP&O) Expeditionary Policies Branch, serving as the Prepositioning Programs Section Head, where he managed the Maritime Prepositioning Force (MPF) program, Marine Corps Prepositioning Program – Norway (MCPP-N) program, and the MEU Augmentation Program – Kuwait (MAP-K).  In March 2020, LtCol Williams assumed command of CLB-24.

Lieutenant Colonel Williams is a graduate of Marine Corps Amphibious Warfare School, Naval Postgraduate School, Marine Corps Command and Staff College, and Air Force Air War College. Lieutenant Colonel Williams holds a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology, a Master of Science (MS) degree in physics from the Naval Postgraduate School, and a MS degree in Military Studies from Marine Corps University.

Lieutenant Colonel Williams’s personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal with two gold starts, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with one gold star, the Navy Achievement Medal with two gold stars, and the Combat Action Ribbon.
