Arbuthnot, a technician with 2nd Explosive Ordnance Disposal Company, 2nd Marine Logistics Group, surveys a road during the unit’s predeployment training aboard Camp Davis, N.C., Feb. 12, 2013. Arbuthnot and his team member reported to the scene of an improvised explosive device detonation, where they carefully sifted through the area with metal detectors before clearing the road with a simulated explosive charge.
