AL TAQADDUM, Iraq (July 7, 2007) ? A Marine secures a set of railroad tracks during a security patrol here. As the insurgents try to thwart Iraq?s progress, it is the responsibility of the Marines with Military Police Company, 2nd Maintenance Battalion, 2nd Marine Logistics Group (Forward) to keep a watchful eye on the roads. At the ?tip of the spear? of the patrols are the patrol leaders who are mostly Corporals: the junior NCO rank in the Corps.
