CAMP TAQADDUM, Iraq (May 30, 2005) - Major Michael J. Murchison, a Detroit native and the operations officer for the Supply Management Unit, Combat Logistics Regiment 25, 2d Force Service Support Group (Forward), finishes the 5 kilometer Memorial Day run first with a time of 18 minutes and eight seconds. The run was to honor the sacrifices of Lance Cpl. Thomas J. Zapp, the first Marine with 2d Supply Battalion to lose his life during Operation Iraqi Freedom, and all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
