AL ASAD, Iraq (June 23, 2005) - Gunnery Sgt. William S. Barnes, staff noncommissioned officer-in-charge with the Military Police Detachment, Combat Logistics Battalion 2, 2d Force Service Support Group (Forward), probes a hole along Alternate Supply Route Tin for mines.  The Maysville, Miss., native, along with the other Marines from 5th Squad, leave the base a few hours prior to the convoy, searching the route traveled between Al Asad and Al Qaim for anything that may cause a threat to the convoy.
