AL TAQADDUM, Iraq (Sept. 27, 2007) ? Lance Cpl. Joseph Saccardi makes a repair underneath a Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicle. The importance of their work means maintaining a schedule that begins before sunrise and finishes long after the sun falls beneath the desert landscape. Saccardi is a motor transportation mechanic with the Motor Transportation Maintenance section, 2nd Supply Battalion, 2nd Marine Logistics Group (Forward), and Charlotte, N.C., native.
