Colonel Ginger E. Beals was born in Illinois and grew up in Iowa and Texas. In 1993, she enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserves and was stationed in Rock Island, Illinois, where she served as a heavy equipment mechanic and attained the rank of Corporal. In 1997, upon graduating from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology, she was commissioned a Second Lieutenant.
After graduating The Basic School, Second Lieutenant Beals attended the Basic Logistics Officers Course and was assigned to Headquarters Battalion, 1st Marine Division. Serving here from 1998 to 2001, she held numerous billets including assistant battalion logistics officer, battalion maintenance management officer, and platoon commander.
In 2001, Captain Beals was assigned to Officer’s Candidate School where she served as a platoon commander, executive officer, and training officer.
In 2003, Captain Beals was assigned to 2d Marine Aircraft Wing where she served in the G-4 as the Plans and Operations Officer. In 2005, she deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom as the G-4 Operations Officer.
In 2006, Captain Beals reported to 2d Marine Logistics Group in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. She was assigned to Combat Logistics Battalion 22 and completed one LF6F Mediterranean deployment with the 22nd MEU as the Operations Officer. Following this deployment, Major Beals was assigned as Combat Logistics Regiment 27 Operations Officer.
Major Beals graduated from the Marine Corps Command and Staff College in 2010. Following resident school, she was assigned to Manpower and Reserve Affairs and served as the Majors Combat Service Support Monitor for two years.
In 2012, Major Beals served as the Executive Officer, Combat Logistics Battalion 3, aboard Marine Corps Base Hawaii.
In 2014, Lieutenant Colonel Beals served as the Commanding Officer, Marine Wing Support Squadron-271. Upon completion of command, she attended top-level school at the U.S. Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island.
In 2017, she served as the Logistics Plans and Exercises Division Chief (J42) at U.S. SOUTHCOM.
In 2019, upon completion of her joint tour, Col Beals returned to Manpower and Reserve Affairs where she served as the Ground Colonels’ monitor. She subsequently served as the Branch Head for Manpower Management Officer Assignments (MMOA).
