Lieutenant Colonel Taylor attended the University of West Florida in Pensacola, FL where he received a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration. After graduation, he attended Officer’s Candidate Course in Quantico, VA and was commissioned to Second Lieutenant in March 2005.
Following The Basic School and the Ground Supply Officers Course, Second Lieutenant Taylor was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 11th Marines in February 2006 as the Battalion Supply Officer. From January 2008 to November 2008, he deployed to Ramadi, Iraq as a Civil Affairs Team Leader and S-5 Officer for 2nd Battalion, 8th Marines and 1st Battalion, 9th Marines. After returning from deployment, First Lieutenant assumed the billet as the Battalion S-4 Officer.
In 2009, Captain Taylor was assigned to Marine Corps Air Station, Kaneohe Bay, HI as the Air Station Supply Officer. From September 2010 to March 2011, he deployed to the Sangin, Afghanistan, as a Civil Affairs Team Leader attached to 1st Reconnaissance Battalion and served as the Governance Deputy for G-3 Civil Military Operations, 1st Marine Division.
From April to October 2012, Captain Taylor attended the Combined Logistics Captains Career Course (CLCCC) Resident PME in Fort Lee, VA where he was an honor graduate and received the Sustainment Center of Excellence (SCoE) Leadership Award.
Following graduation from CLCCC, Captain Taylor was assigned to 2nd Marine Raider Support Battalion, Marine Raider Support Group in Stone Bay, NC where he was the Battalion Supply Officer and a plank holder as a Company Commander for the first Marine Corps Special Operations Logistics Company. In 2014, he attached to Joint Special Operation Task Force -Trans Sahara as the Logistics Officer for Team Libya in support of special operations in Africa.
From July 2015 to June 2016, Major Taylor attended the Air Force Command and Staff College (resident) in Montgomery, AL where he received a Masters in Operational Art and Science.
From June 2016 to June 2019, Major Taylor served as the Commanding Officer for Recruiting Station Orange County in Santa Ana, CA. During this period, he ensured all the fulfillment of all Marine enlisted and officer accession requirements for Orange County and lower Los Angeles County.
After a successful recruiting tour, Major Taylor was assigned to United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) in Tampa, FL from June 2019 to June 2021. During his time at USSOCOM, Major Taylor was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel and served as the European Logistics Plans Chief and the Joint Property Oversight Branch Chief.
Lieutenant Colonel Taylor’s education includes: Officer Candidate School, The Basic School, Ground Supply Officer’s Course, Combined Logistics Captains Career Course, Air Force Command and Staff College, Logistics Support to Sensitive Activities, U.S. Navy Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape School, Finish Defence Forces Civil Military Cooperation Course, Theater Special Operation Command Course, Recruiter Management Course, and the UNC LogTech Advanced course.
Lieutenant Colonel Taylor’s personal awards include: the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Joint Commendation Medal, the Navy Commendation Medal with three gold stars and the combat distinguishing “V” device, the Navy Achievement Medal, the Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, and the Combat Action Ribbon.
