First Sergeant Dylan E. Cox enlisted in the Marine Corps out of Denver, Colorado and went on to graduate from Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego in June 2006. After graduating from Marine Combat Training in October 2006, he reported to Center for Naval Technical Training in Pensacola, Florida for Military Occupational Specialty training for MOS 6073; Ground Support Equipment Mechanic.
After graduating training, then Lance Corporal Cox reported to Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 13, Marine Aircraft Group 13 where he was promoted to Corporal. In September 2009, Corporal Cox deployed on the USS Bonhomme-Richard in support of the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit. He returned from this deployment and was promoted to Sergeant in October 2010. He served in billets as a Hydraulic and Pneumatic Certified Technician, Hydraulic Contamination Program Manager, Collateral Duty Inspector, Work Center 920 Supervisor, and 900 Division Platoon Sergeant.
Sergeant Cox reported to Recruiting Substation Colorado Springs South, Recruiting Station Denver in 2011. While at RSS Springs South, he was meritoriously promoted to Staff Sergeant. His billets included Canvassing Recruiter, and RSS Springs South Staff Noncommissioned Officer In Charge. Staff Sergeant Cox reported to Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 14, Marine Aircraft Group 14 in March 2014. He deployed on the USS Wasp in support of the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit in 2016. He served as 910 Work Center Supervisor, 900 Division Training Chief, and 900 Division Production Control Chief. Staff Sergeant Cox then reported to the Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training Unit - North Island in August 2017.
After graduating Navy Instructor Training Course, Staff Sergeant Cox was assigned as a Support Equipment Instructor where he was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant. He obtained his Master Training Specialist certification and was assigned as a Chief Curriculum Developer, then as the Support Equipment Schoolhouse Chief Instructor. In February 2021, Gunnery Sergeant Cox reported to Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 14, Marine Aircraft Group 14 to serve as the Ground Support Equipment Division Chief. Gunnery Sergeant Cox was frocked to First Sergeant in January 2022 and served as Bravo Company First Sergeant at Marine Wing Communications Squadron 28.
In March 2023, First Sergeant Cox assumed duties as MWCS-28 Headquarters and Service Company First Sergeant.
In January 2024 First Sergeant Cox was reassigned and is currently serving as Command Senior Enlisted Leader at Combat Logistics Battalion 24.
First Sergeant Cox's personal decorations include Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3rd award). In August 2021, First Sergeant Cox obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Project Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
