Command Senior Enlisted Leader, Headquarters and Service Battalion
Sergeant Major Jeremy Jenkins

Sergeant Major Jenkins was born in Statesboro, Georgia, and raised in Beaufort, South Carolina. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in
May 2005 and attended recruit training at Charlie Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island,
South Carolina. In August 2005 he then reported to the School of Infantry, Camp Geiger, North Carolina for Infantry Training
Battalion. While there he earned the MOS of 0341.


In November 2005 upon completion of school, Private First Class Jenkins reported for duty to 3rd Battalion 8th Marines, Camp
Lejeune, North Carolina. He was assigned to Kilo Company, 3rd Platoon, where he served as a saw gunner, for the 1st fire team. He
was promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal in February 2006. In March of 2006 he took part in a unit deployment with 3rd Battalion
8th Marines to Ramadi, Iraq. Throughout the deployment Lance Corporal Jenkins served as the saw gunner, and the subject matter
expert on mortar employment in the platoon. He returned from his deployment in September 2006.


In January 2007, Lance Corporal Jenkins received orders to 2nd Marine Special Operations Battalion, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
He was assigned to Golf Company, Direct Action Special Reconnaissance Platoon as a machine gunner in the security element. In July
2007, he took part in the company deployment to Gereshk, Afghanistan. He was promoted to the rank of Corporal in December of
2007. He returned from his deployment in January 2008.


In March 2008, Corporal Jenkins received orders to 3rd Battalion 8th Marines, Camp Lejeune North Carolina. He was assigned to
Weapons Company, 81's Platoon, where he served as the Squad Leader for 1st Section 2nd gun.


In May 2008, Corporal Jenkins received orders to 3rd Battalion 9th Marines Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. He was assigned to Lima
Company, Weapons Platoon, where he served as the Mortar Section Leader. In January 2009 he attended Infantry Mortar Leaders
Course; he graduated in March 2009. In July 2009 he took part in the unit deployment to Ubaydi, Iraq. He was promoted to Sergeant
in September of 2009. In December of 2010, he took part in the unit deployment to Marjah, Afghanistan. Throughout the deployment
he served as the Mobile Assault Platoon Section Leader.


In October 2011, Sergeant Jenkins reported to Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina for Drill Instructor School. In
January of 2012 Sergeant Jenkins reported to Charlie Company 1st RTBN MCRD Parris Island, South Carolina for Drill Instructor
Duty. While there he served as a DI, SDI, CDI, and MCITWS. Sergeant Jenkins was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant
meritoriously on July 2nd, 2014.


In July of 2015, Staff Sergeant Jenkins reported to 1st Battalion 8th Marines and assumed the billet of 1st Platoon Sergeant in Company
“B”. In January of 2016 Staff Sergeant Jenkins deployed with Bravo Company to Moron, Spain for Crisis Response Operations. He
returned in August of 2016. Upon arrival to CONUS he assumed the role of Battalion Assistant Operations Chief.
In August of 2017, Staff Sergeant Jenkins reported to Officer Candidates School and performed the duties of Sergeant Instructor,
Platoon Sergeant, and Company Gunnery Sergeant. On September 1st 2018, Staff Sergeant Jenkins was promoted to the rank of
Gunnery Sergeant.


In August of 2019, Gunnery Sergeant Jenkins reported to Weapons Training Battalion and was assigned as the Senior Enlisted
Advisor/Company 1stSgt for Marksmanship Training Company.


April of 2021, Gunnery Sergeant Jenkins reported to 1st Battalion 3rd Marines and served as the Fires Platoon Sergeant. In December
of 2021 Gunnery Sergeant Jenkins deployed on the Unit Deployment Program to Okinawa, Japan. During the UDP Gunnery Sergeant
Jenkins was promoted to First Sergeant and was subsequently assigned to Company B to serve as the Company First Sergeant.
In June of 2022, First Sergeant Jenkins reported to Headquarters Battalion, Marine Corps Base Hawaii, to serve as the Service
Company First Sergeant.


In July of 2023, First Sergeant Jenkins reported to 3rd RTBN to serve as the Company M First Sergeant, in December of 2024 First
Sergeant Jenkins was promoted to his current rank of Sergeant Major and was then transferred to 1st Recruit Training Battalion to serve
as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader.


Sergeant Major Jenkins' personal awards include the Combat Action Ribbon with 1 gold star in lieu of 2nd award, the Navy and Marine
Corps Achievement Medal with 1 gold star in lieu of 2nd award, and the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with 1 Silver
star in lieu of 5th award. Sergeant Major Jenkins earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Management with a concentration in Leadership
from the American Military University.
