Sergeant Major Davoren is a native of Brooklyn, New York. Sergeant Major Davoren attended Recruit Training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, SC in November 1997. Upon graduating from Recruit Training, Sergeant Major Davoren reported to Camp Geiger, North Carolina for Marine Combat Training. Sergeant Major Davoren attended Field Artillery School in Fort Sill, Oklahoma, for Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) training as a Field Artillery Cannoneer.
Completing training in April 1998, Sergeant Major Davoren reported to 1st Battalion 12th Marines, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii for duty with Charlie Battery. During this tour of duty Sergeant Major Davoren served as the Assistant Section Chief, Gunner, A-Gunner, Ammunition Technician Chief, and Number 1 Canoneer.
In November 2000, Sergeant Major Davoren was selected to attend Marine Security Guard School in Quantico Virginia. After successfully completing MSG School, Sergeant Major Davoren served as a Watch Stander in Mexico City, Mexico and The Hague, Netherlands.
In June of 2003, Sergeant Major Davoren was selected to serve as a Security Force NCO for the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the National Military Command Center at the Pentagon in Washington, DC.
In September 2004, Sergeant Major Davoren reported to 1st Battalion 12th Marines, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii for Duty with Bravo Battery. During his tour his billets included Section Chief, Local Security Chief and Platoon Sergeant.
In January of 2007, Sergeant Major Davoren was selected to attend Recruiting School. After successfully completing Recruiters School, Sergeant Major Davoren recruited in RSS Worcester/PCS Leominster in Massachusetts.
In February 2010, Sergeant Major Davoren reported to 5th Battalion 10th Marines, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina for Duty with Tango Battery. Sergeant Major Davoren served as a Section Chief, Platoon Sergeant, and the Battery Gunnery Sergeant. In January of 2012, Sergeant Major Davoren was transferred to 2nd Battalion 10th Marines, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina for Duty with Golf Battery to serve as Battery Gunnery Sergeant. Sergeant Major Davoren deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and served on Patrol Base Boldak as the Camp Commandant.
In July of 2013 Sergeant Major Davoren reported to Marine Barracks Washington, D.C. to serve as a Distance Learning Instructor for the entire Artillery Field where he wrote and developed the MCI for the M327 mortar. Sergeant Major Davoren also held the billets of the last Student Services Division Chief of Marine Corps Institute (before it’s closure in 2015), Public Affairs Chief for Marine Barracks Washington, Senior Host for the Staff Non-Commissioned Officer’s Club and Docent for the Home of the Commandants.
In December 2015 Sergeant Major Davoren was reassigned to I&I duty with Maintenance Service Company, Sacramento, CA. While at Maitenance Services Company he served as the Inspector-Instructor First Sergeant.
In December 2018 Sergeant Major Davoren received orders to 3rd Battalion 7th Marines where he served as Weapons Company First Sergeant.
Sergeant Major Davoren was transferred in February of 2019 to 3d Amphibious Assault Battalion where he served as the Company First Sergeant of Assault Combat Vehicle Company D.
In July of 2020 Sergeant Major Davoren received orders to 2nd Marine Logistics Group, Combat Logistics Regiment 2, Combat Logistics Battalion 2 where he is currently serving as the Battalion Sergeant Major.
Sergeant Major Davoren’s personnel awards include Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal in lieu of Forth Award, Joint Achievement Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, and Combat Action Ribbon. Sergeant Major Davoren is also a recipient of the Order of Saint Barbara’s Medal and is authorized to wear the Joint Chiefs of Staff Badge.
