Lieutenant Colonel Brian T. Everett is a native of Hartford, Illinois. He enlisted in the delayed entry program in 1989 and reported to recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego in 1990.
His enlisted assignments as an 0311 infantryman and Marine Security Forces guard include Marine Detachment USS Missouri (BB-63); Marine Detachment USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63) where he participated in OPERATION RESTORE HOPE in Mogadishu, Somalia and OPERATION SOUTHERN WATCH in the Persian Gulf; Headquarters Battalion, 2d Marine Division serving as a training non-commissioned officer; as a 7051 Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting Specialist Marine Wing Support Squadron, 272, Marine Wing Support Group 27, MCAS New River, Jacksonville, North Carolina, where he participated in OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM and OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM. In addition to his primary duties, he also served as a naval aircrew for the air station UC-12 program; Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina serving as a Drill Instructor, Senior Drill Instructor, and Chief Drill Instructor, Company E, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion.
In 2005, he was selected for the Enlisted Commissioning Program and commissioned as a logistics officer. His company grade assignments include platoon commander and executive officer, Transportation Support Company, Combat Logistics Battalion-2, 2d MLG, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina serving as Truck Platoon Commander and Transportation Support Company Executive Officer where he participated in OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM 06-08.1 and OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM 08.2; Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina, serving as Series Commander and Executive Officer Company H, Executive Officer and Company Commander Company E, and Headquarters Company Commander and Operations Officer 2nd Recruit Training Battalion; United States Marine Forces Special Operations Command, Combat Support Battalion serving as Headquarters Company Commander and Battalion Logistics Officer; Logistics Support Team Officer-In-Charge in support of N Co, 3d Marine Special Operations Battalion where he participated in a deployment to the Theater Special Operations Command Africa (SOCAF) area of operations.
His field grade assignments include 3d Marine Raider Support Battalion, serving as the Operations Officer; Marine Manpower Officer Assignments (MMOA), Manpower and Reserve Affairs, serving as the Joint Officer Management Officer for active component Marine Corps; Operations and Plans, Logistics Directorate, III Marine Expeditionary Force, Okinawa, Japan, serving as Logistics Planner; 3d Maintenance Battalion, 3d Marine Logistics Group serving as the Battalion Executive Officer; Combat Logistics Regiment 3, 3d Marine Logistics Group serving as the Regiment Executive Officer.
Lieutenant Colonel Everett assumed command of 2d Transportation Battalion, Combat Logistics Regiment-27 on 30 June 2022. On 12 October 2023, 2d Transportation Battalion was deactivated at which time Headquarters and Service Battalion, 2d Marine Logistics Group was activated and Lieutenant Colonel Everett assumed the duties as Commanding Officer.
Lieutenant Colonel Everett graduated from Campbell University, Officer Candidate School, The Basic School, the Marine Corps Expeditionary Warfare School, and the Marine Corps Command and Staff College.
Lieutenant Colonel Everett’s personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (two stars in lieu of third award), Joint Commendation Medal, Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three stars in lieu of fourth award), Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three stars in lieu of fourth award) and the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal (four stars in lieu of fifth award). Additionally, Lieutenant Colonel Everett received the Officer Candidate School Colonel I. Robert Kriendler Leadership Award (2005), The Basic School Mustang Award (2006) and the Marine Corps Association’s Leadership Award (2009). He is also authorized to wear the Naval Aircrew Badge.
