A native of North Bergen, New Jersey, Lieutenant Colonel Joussef "Joey" Abchi Donado enlisted in the Marine Corps in July 2003. He attended Recruit Training aboard MCRD Parris Island, Marine Combat Training aboard Camp Geiger and was assigned to Marine Aviation Logistics Squadrons 26, 29, and 36 as a Precision Measurement and Electronics Technician (MOS 6492). During this time, he was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Corporal, graduated from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale in August 2006, received his commission in August 2007, and designated a Supply Officer (MOS 3002) in September 2008.
Previous command assignments include Headquarters Company, Combat Logistics Regiment 25 and Supply Company, 2d Supply Battalion.
Supply Officer assignments include Supply Officer, 7th Marine Regiment (Operation Enduring Freedom Oct 2009 to Oct 2010); District Supply Officer, 9th Marine Corps District; Reparable Issue Point Officer-In-Charge, 2d Maintenance Battalion; Materiel Readiness Cell Assistant Officer-In-Charge, Combat Logistics Regiment 25; and Supply Management Unit Officer-In-Charge, 2d Supply Battalion.
Additional Staff assignments include Aide-de-Camp, II Marine Expeditionary Force; USMC Logistics Integration Officer to the Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Installations and Logistics (OPNAV N4); Key Leader Engagements Planner, Task Force 51/5th Marine Expeditionary Brigade.
His military decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal with two Gold Stars; Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with one Gold Star; Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with two Gold Stars, and Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal.
