Colonel Joseph M. Garaux

Colonel Garaux is a joint qualified officer, who originally enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserves in 1995 as an infantry / mortar specialist with Kilo Co 3/25. He graduated from The Ohio State University and was commissioned in June 1999. Upon graduating from The Basic School, he was designated as a Logistics Officer.
 
Colonel Garaux' operational assignments include tours with 1st Force Service Support Group, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, 1st Marine Division, 2nd Marine Air Wing, 2d Marine Logistics Group, and 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit. His operational billets include: Motor Transport Platoon Commander, Detachment S-4, CG's Aide de Camp, Company Executive Officer, Transportation Support Detachment Commander, 1st Marine Regiment S-4, Marine Air Control Group 28 S-4, Personnel Support Detachment Company Commander, Marine Air Control Group Executive Officer, Assistant Chief of Staff G-10 Force Preservation OIC, Commanding Officer of Combat Logistics Battalion-24, and Assistant Chief of Staff G-3. He is currently serving as the Commanding Officer of Combat Logistics Regiment 2. 
 
Colonel Garaux has participated in combat operations supporting OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM, OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM, and OPERATION OAKEN STEEL. Additionally, Colonel Garaux served as the Commander of Troops for over 500 Marines embarked on the LPD USS New York during the NATO exercise Trident Juncture-18.
 
Colonel Garaux' supporting establishment tours include serving as Marine Officer Instructor at Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, VA, and Faculty Advisor at the Marine Corps University's Expeditionary Warfare School in Quantico, VA. 
 
His joint assignments include liaison officer for USAFRICOM's CJTF-Horn of Africa and Director of Training for NATO's Joint Force Training Centre in Bydgoszcz, Poland.
 
Colonel Garaux is a resident graduate of Expeditionary Warfare School, and a distinguish graduate of the Marine Corps' resident Command and Staff College, both located in Quantico, VA. He holds two masters degrees from Norwich University's School of Diplomacy and Marine Corps University. He is a graduate of the Joint and Combined Warfighting Seniors Course seminar at Norfolk, VA, and most recently a distinguished graduate from both the NATO Defense College Senior Course and the NATO Regional Cooperation Course in Rome, Italy.
