Commanding Officer, Combat Logistics Regiment 2
Colonel David H. Mills

Colonel Mills was born on Andrews Air force Base and is a native of Columbia, South Carolina.  He graduated from James Madison University in 1996 with a B.S. in Mass Communications. 

As a company grade officer, his operational assignments were Maintenance Management Officer, 8th Marines; Maintenance Management Officer and Assistant Logistics Officer, 3rd Battalion, 8th Marines, 26th MEU (OPERATIONS NOBLE ANVIL and SHINING HOPE- Albania, OPERATION JOINT GUARDIAN- Kosovo, and OPERATION AVID RESPONSE- Turkey); Logistics Officer and Company Commander, Combat Service Support Group 3 (OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM- Recruiting Assistance Team and OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM- Police Advisor Team).

As a field grade officer, his operational assignments include Executive Officer, Combat Logistics Battalion-8 (OPERATION EDURING FREEDOM 11.1- Embedded Partnering Team OIC and 13.1- Company Commander); Commanding Officer, Combat Logistics Battalion 4; Assistant Chief of Staff for Logistics, 2d Marine Division. 

His supporting establishment assignments include Balkans Circuit Manager, AFE- Office of Secretary of Defense; Platoon Commander, Officer Candidates School; Logistics Planner, Logistics Plans Directorate, Installations and Logistics, Headquarters Marine Corps; Operations Officer and Executive Officer, Marine Corps Logistics Operations Group.

His joint duties include Policy Analyst for Security Force Assistance and Irregular Warfare, United States Special Operations Command.

Colonel Mills’ military education include: Logistics Officers Course, Expeditionary Warfare School, Marine Corps Command and Staff Seminar Program, Joint and Combined Warfare School, Marine Foreign Advisors Course, Joint Humanitarian Operations Course, and MA in Strategic Studies from the Marine Corps War College.
