Command Senior Enlisted Leader, Combat Logistics Battalion 2
Sergeant Major James W. Myrick

Sergeant Major Myrick reported to MCRD Parris Island in June of 2000. Upon graduation as a PFC, he attended Marine Combat Training at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. He then went to Assault Amphibian School (AAS) Battalion aboard Camp Pendleton, California where he attended the Assault Amphibian Vehicle (AAV) Crewman Course to attain the MOS 1833. Upon graduation of MOS School in February of 2001, Sergeant Major Myrick was stationed at Second Assault Amphibian Battalion (AABn) Delta Company where he was promoted to the rank of LCpl in March of 2001 and obtained the billet of crew chief. In April of 2002 Sergeant Major Myrick deployed to Spain in support of Operation Dynamic Mix as a crew chief.

In September of 2002 Sergeant Major Myrick was promoted to the rank of Corporal and deployed to Vieques Island, Puerto Rico where he served as a provisional infantry fire team leader. In February of 2003 Sergeant Major Myrick deployed as a crew chief to Iraq in support of OIF. After OIF Sergeant Major Myrick obtained the billet of assistant section leader in August of 2003 a billet he held until March of 2004. Sergeant Major Myrick was promoted to Sergeant and attended Marine Security Guard (MSG) School in March of 2004. After graduating MSG School Sergeant Major Myrick was posted at Detachment Yerevan, Armenia in June of 2004 as a watch stander and operations and training NCO.

In May of 2005 Sergeant Major Myrick was posted in Detachment Havana, Cuba as a watch stander and assistant detachment commander. In June of 2006 Sergeant Major Myrick was posted in Detachment London, England as a watch stander and assistant detachment commander. While in London Sergeant Major Myrick was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant in January 2007.

In July of 2007 Sergeant Major Myrick returned to Second AABn to serve as a section leader. In May of 2009 Sergeant Major Myrick deployed to Afghanistan as a section leader in support of OEF. In May of 2011 Sergeant Major Myrick deployed as a provisional infantry squad leader in support of Task Force Africa Partnership Station 2011. He was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant in November of 2011. As a Gunnery Sergeant he served as a platoon sergeant for Operation Bold Alligator in February 2012 and deployed with his platoon in support of the Unit Deployment Program to Japan in July of 2012.

In August of 2013 Sergeant Major Myrick reported to AAS Bn to serve as a platoon commander and senior platform instructor for Marines attaining the MOS 1833/1803, Assault Amphibian Vehicle Crewman and Assault Amphibian Vehicle Officer Course. Upon completion of three years as a platoon commander and senior platform instructor Sergeant Major Myrick was moved into the billet of Assistant Battalion Operations and Training Chief in December 2016.

In January 2018 Sergeant Major Myrick reported to Third AABn First Marine Division where he served as the H&S Company First Sergeant until April 2018. While at Third AABn he was promoted to the rank of First Sergeant in February of 2018. In April of 2018 Sergeant Major Myrick reported to Third Battalion, Eighth Marines where he served as the Lima Company First Sergeant. In October 2018 Sergeant Major Myrick deployed with Lima Company as part of the GCE for Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force Crisis Response Africa.

In April of 2020 Sergeant Major Myrick began serving as the Company First Sergeant for Headquarters and Service Company Third Battalion Eighth Marines. In October of 2020 Sergeant Major Myrick deployed with the Battalion to UDP W21.1, Japan as the H&S Company First Sergeant. 

In June of 2021 Sergeant Major Myrick reported to Headquarters and Support Battalion, Marine Corps Installations East, Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune where he assumed the billet of Company First Sergeant for Alpha Company. On July 15, 2022 Sergeant Major Myrick was frocked to his current rank and on July 28, 2022 reported to Combat Logistics Battalion 2 as the Battalion Sergeant Major.

His personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with 4 stars, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with combat V, and the Combat Action Ribbon with gold star.
