Lieutenant Colonel Luke Sauber

Lieutenant Colonel Luke Sauber, a native of Memphis, Tennessee and graduate of the University of Memphis, earned his commission from the Officer Candidate Course in March of 2004.  After completing The Basic School, he was appointed as a Logistics Officer, and reported to Logistics Officer Basic Course in Camp Johnson, North Carolina.

In 2005, Lieutenant Sauber reported to 2nd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment in Camp Pendleton, California.  During his time with 2/1, Lieutenant Sauber served as the Battalion Motor Transport Officer, Maintenance Management Officer, and Assistant Logistics Officer.  During this tour he deployed in support of OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM, the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit and the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit.          

In 2008, Captain Sauber reported to The Basic School in Quantico, Virginia.  From 2008-2011, while serving with The Basic School, Captain Sauber served as Warfighting Instructor, Staff Platoon Commander and Company Executive Officer.  From 2011-2012, Captain Sauber attended Expeditionary Warfighting School. 

In 2012, Captain Sauber reported to 2nd Marine Logistics Group (MLG) in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.  From 2012-2015, while serving with 2nd MLG, Captain Sauber served as Company Commander, Theater Security Cooperation Team Officer-In-Charge, and Battalion Executive Officer.  During this tour Major Sauber deployed in support of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM and to Burundi, Africa in support of Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force Crisis Response/Africa.

In 2015, Major Sauber reported to Pennsylvania State University in State College, Pennsylvania.  During this tour he served as Commandant of the Marine Corps, Logistics Fellow. 

From 2016-2019 Major Sauber served as Commanding Officer, Recruiting Station Frederick, Maryland.

In 2019, Major Sauber reported to Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii and served as 3d Marine Regiment Logistics Officer.  From 2020 to 2021, Lieutenant Colonel Sauber was assigned to United States Pacific Fleet in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii and served as Future Plans Chief for the N5.

Lieutenant Colonel Sauber is a graduate of Marine Corps Expeditionary Warfare School and Command and Staff College, holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Boston University, and a Master's Degree in Supply Chain Management from Pennsylvania State University. 


Lieutenant Colonel Sauber's personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal with two gold stars, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with two gold stars, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with Combat Distinguishing Device and one Gold Star and the Combat Action Ribbon.
