Brigadier General (BGen) Andrew T. Priddy is currently serving as the Commanding General of 2d Marine Expeditionary Brigade (MEB) and the Deputy Commanding General of II Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF). Born in Michigan and raised in Channahon, Illinois, BGen Priddy received his commission in 1995 from the United States Naval Academy and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Ocean Engineering.
Upon completion of The Basic School and Infantry Officers Course, Second Lieutenant Priddy served as a rifle platoon commander and executive officer with 2d Battalion, 4thMarines and deployed to Okinawa, Japan with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable).
Returning to Quantico, he served as an instructor and staff platoon commander at The Basic School and attended the Amphibious Warfare School. In 2002, Captain Priddy was assigned to 3d Battalion, 3d Marines
and served as India Company Commander and the Battalion Operations Officer. During this tour he deployed to Okinawa with the 31st MEU and to Afghanistan for Operation ENDURING FREEDOM serving in Regional Command East. In April of 2005, Major Priddy transferred to Marine Barracks Washington D.C. (8th and I) and served as the Operations Officer and marched as a parade commander. Following this tour, he was selected to attend the United States Army Command and General Staff College in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
After graduating in 2009, Major Priddy reported to joint duty at the United States Special Operations Command where he served as a strategic planner, a member of the Commanders Action Group, and an Aide-de-Camp to the Commander, USSOCOM. During this tour he attended the Joint Force Staff College (JPME II).
In 2011, Lieutenant Colonel Priddy assumed command of 2d Battalion, 1st Marines and deployed to Okinawa for a third time. Following command he attended the Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island. Upon graduation in 2014, he was selected as the Marine Corps Fellow to the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington D.C. In June 2015 to 2017 he served as the Senior Aide-de-Camp to the 36th and 37th Commandant of the Marine Corps.
In June of 2017 he assumed duties as the Deputy Director of Operations for Combined Joint Task Force Operation INHERENT RESOLVE until July 2018. Upon return to the United States, he served as the I MEF G-3 Current Operations Officer until 2019. Colonel Priddy assumed command of the 13th MEU in May of 2019.
During command, he deployed as the Commander of the Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force – Crisis Response – Central Command, serving in Operations INHERENT RESOLVE and FREEDOM’S SENTINEL. Following MEU command, Colonel Priddy served as the Military Assistant to the 35th and 36th Assistant Commandants of the Marine Corps. Brigadier General Priddy and his wife Kirsten have three children: Moya, 18; Jack, 17; and Marin, 16.
