Company Commander, Combat Logistics Company 23
1st Lt. Anthony Witte

First Lieutenant Anthony J. Witte is a native of Chester, New York. He attended Pennsylvania State University and participated in the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) program. He received a commission as a Second Lieutenant in May 2022 upon earning Bachelor of Arts degrees in International Politics and Spanish, with a minor in Military Studies.

Second Lieutenant Witte subsequently attended Basic Officer Course at The Basic School (TBS) Class 7-22, Golf Company, in September 2022, where he was designated as a Supply Officer. He furthered his training by completing the Supply Chain Management Officer Course (SCMOC) with Class 3-23 in July 2023.

In October 2023, Second Lieutenant Witte reported to Combat Logistics Company 23 (CLC-23), Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, South Carolina, to serve as the Supply Officer.  He played a pivotal role in the company's significant realignment under the Marine Corps' Force Design 2030 initiative. His efforts were instrumental in transitioning CLC-23 into a self-sufficient, standalone entity, capable of operating independently from its higher headquarters in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

In December 2024, First Lieutenant Witte was selected in December 2024 for a demanding deployment with the Combined Special Operations Joint Task Force-Levant (CSOJTF-L).  In this role, he served as the Officer in Charge for both the Counter-ISIS Train and Equip Fund (CTEF) in Syria and Iraq. This crucial assignment saw him participating in numerous partner force development operations across three countries within the Central Command (CENTCOM) area of responsibility. His primary mission was to advise, assist, and develop multinational partner forces engaged in the ongoing fight against ISIS.

Upon his return to CLC-23 in June 2025, First Lieutenant Witte assumed the duties of Executive Officer. In this capacity, he was the lead planner for a multitude of field exercises, live-fire ranges, and critical training events. He also oversaw all company operations and administrative matters, ensuring the unit's readiness and effectiveness. In a testament to his capabilities, he was appointed as the Commanding Officer of CLC-23 in January 2026, following the deployment of the unit's Major for an Individual Augment billet. He has since commanded and controlled a task-organized CLC staff and Marines in support of the 2d Combat Readiness Regiment’s mission and objectives.

First Lieutenant Witte's personal awards include the Joint Service Commendation Medal with “C” device and the Joint Service Achievement Medal with “C” device, reflecting his meritorious service and significant contributions to joint operations.
