Command Master Chief, II Marine Expeditionary Force
Master Chief (FMF) Christopher Rebana

Command Master Chief Rebana, a native of Olongapo, Republic of the Philippines, enlisted in the United States Navy in April 1994 from San Diego, CA.  While attending recruit training at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes he was meritoriously promoted to Seaman Apprentice and upon graduation reported to Hospital Corpsman “A” School in Great Lakes, IL.

                                      

Upon graduation, he reported for duty to Naval Hospital Jacksonville, Florida as a General Duty Corpsman.  During his 18 month tour he was assigned to the Pharmacy and Emergency Room Departments.  Upon a successful tour of duty Hospitalman Rebana reported to Field Medical Service School Camp Pendleton, CA and earned his 8404 Navy Enlisted Classification (NEC) code.

 

In October of 1996 Hospitalman Rebana reported for duty with 3d Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st Marine Division aboard the Marine Air Ground Combat Center in 29 Palms, CA.  While assigned to Weapons Company he served as the Surveillance and Target Acquisition/Scout Sniper Platoon Corpsman deploying to Okinawa, Japan under the Unit Deployment Program (UDP).  He later became the Weapons Company Senior Line Corpsman and the Battalion Aid Station Education & Training Petty Officer.  Petty Officer Third Class Rebana later served as the Assistant Command Career Counselor and Education Services Officer for the 1st Marine Division (Detachment) Navy FMF Personnel Office.

 

In June, 2001 Petty Officer Second Class Rebana reported to Basic Instructor Training Course in Great Lakes, IL and upon graduation reported to Recruit Division Commander (RDC) School at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes.  After successfully graduating as the class Honor Graduate he later served as an RDC for eight recruit divisions, earned his Master Training Specialist qualification, and became an RDC School Instructor.

 

After a successful tour at RTC Great Lakes Chief Rebana reported for duty with 3d Battalion, 6th Marines, 2d Marine Division aboard Camp Lejeune, NC in December 2004.  While assigned as the Battalion Senior Medical Department Representative, Chief Rebana deployed to Al Qaim, Iraq from August 2005 to March 2006 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) III.  Still assigned to 3/6 he later deployed to Habbaniyah, Iraq from January to August 2007 in support of OIF 06-08.

 

After Senior Chief Rebana’s tour with 2d Marine Division he reported to Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune in December 2007 and became the Senior Enlisted Leader for the Directorate of Clinical Support Services.

 

In August 2008 Senior Chief Rebana reported to 2d Marine Division as the 6th Marine Regiment Navy Senior Enlisted Leader.  He deployed to Ramadi, Iraq under Regimental Combat Team-6 in support of OIF 09.1 from January to September 2009.  Prior to his transfer from 2d Marine Division Senior Chief Rebana served as the 2d Marine Division Acting Command Master Chief.

 

Upon transfer Senior Chief Rebana reported to the US Navy Senior Enlisted Academy Class 161 graduating with distinction and earning the John A. Power, Excellence in Communications Award and the Tailhook Association Leadership in Health and Physical Readiness Award.

 

In October 2011Senior Chief Rebana reported to Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton and became the Senior Enlisted Leader for the Directorate of Public Health.  He later became the Senior Enlisted Leader for the 52 Area Branch Health Clinic supporting the School of Infantry-West.  Prior to his transfer Master Chief Rebana assumed the duties as the Directorate of Branch Health Clinics Senior Enlisted Leader.

 

In January of 2014 Master Chief Rebana reported to Okinawa, Japan and served as the 3d Medical Battalion Command Master Chief.  He was selected to the Command Master Chief Program (NEC 9580) in February 2015 and later served as the 3d Marine Logistics Group Deputy and Acting Command Master Chief. He was transferred to his next assignment as the 2d Marine Logistics Group Command Master Chief in February of 2016 prior to assuming his current billet at II Marine Expeditionary Force.

 

Command Master Chief Rebana is a graduate of the Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Course and Keystone Course. 

 

His decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (4 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4 awards), Combat Action Ribbon, and various unit awards.
