AL ASAD, Iraq (June 23, 2005) - Gunnery Sgt. William S. Barnes, staff noncommissioned officer-in-charge with the Military Police Detachment, Combat Logistics Battalion 2, 2d Force Service Support Group (Forward), walks down Alternate Supply Route Tin looking for possible mines or improvised explosive devices. The Maysville, Miss., native, along with the other Marines from 5th Squad, leave the base a few hours prior to the convoy, searching the route traveled between Al Asad and Al Qaim for anything that may cause a threat to the convoy.
