U.S. Marines from Combat Logistics Battalion 8, Combat Logistics Regiment 27, 2nd Marine Logistics Group, pose for a group photo aboard the San Antonio-class amphibious transportation dock USS New York (LPD 21) July 3, 2023. Marines assigned to CLB-8, based out of Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, embarked aboard USS New York during Exercise UNITAS LXIV. UNTAS is the world’s longest-running annual multinational maritime exercise that focuses on enhancing interoperability among multiple nations and joint forces during littoral and amphibious operations in order to build on existing regional partnerships and create new enduring relationships that promote peace, stability, and prosperity in the U.S. Southern Command’s area of responsibility.
