Cpl. Patricio Canela, Jr., an administrative clerk with 8th Engineer Support Battalion, 2nd Marine Logistics Group, poses for a picture after joining two other New York City Marines aboard Camp Lejeune, N.C., Sept. 10, 2012, to commemorate the eleventh anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks. Canela grew up in Queens, N.Y. He was 14 years old on the day of the attacks, and he said he enlisted in the Marine Corps after meeting servicemembers while traveling overseas.
