Stephen Cook, a native of Green Bay, Wisconsin, enlisted in the Marine Corps in March of 1995 and attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego. In May of 2004, he was commissioned a Second Lieutenant and attended The Basic School in Quantico, Virginia.
As a company grade officer, his operational assignments include: Engineer Platoon Commander, Battalion Landing Team 2/6, 26th MEU; Mobility Assault Company Commander, 2d Combat Engineer Battalion;
Engineer Company Commander, Marine Wing Support Squadron-274; Engineer Detachment Officer in Charge, Southern Partnership Station 2012; Logistics Combat Element Officer-in Charge, Marine Aircraft Group-40 (REIN), Bahrain;
As a field grade officer, his operational assignments include: Force Engineer, Marine Corps Forces Europe and Africa (MARFOREUR/AF); Executive Officer, Combat Logistics Battalion-15; Executive Officer, Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force-Alaska.
His supporting establishment assignments include: Ground Combat Element Engineer Advocate, Ground Branch, HQMC Plans, Policies, and Operations (PP&O); Future Force Management Section Head, Future Operations Branch, HQMC, PP&O.
Lieutenant Colonel Cook’s military education includes Basic Machinegunners Course, Marine Corps Instructor of Water Survival School, Combat Engineer Officers Course, Army Engineer Captains Career Course, Joint Humanitarian Operations Course, Joint Engineer Operations Course, United Nations Civil-Military Humanitarian Operations Coordination Course, and Marine Corps Command and Staff College.
Lieutenant Colonel Cook holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University and a MS in Engineer Project Management from the University of Missouri.
