Captain Eric S. Evans

Captain Eric S. Evans earned a Bachelor of Science from Butler University and a Doctor of Dental Surgery from Indiana University School of Dentistry.  He also holds a Master's in Health Sciences from The George Washington University.   

CAPT Evans received his commission and reported for active duty in 2000.  In 2001, he completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the Naval Dental Center, Mid-Atlantic, and earned a certificate in Comprehensive Dentistry in 2009 from the Naval Postgraduate Dental School. 

At sea, CAPT Evans deployed with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit aboard USS Nashville (LPD 13), participating in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Joint Task Force Liberia.  Ashore, his assignments include assistant dental officer, 2nd Dental Battalion, Camp Lejeune; dental department head, Joint Maritime Facility, St. Mawgan, United Kingdom; dental department head and interim officer-in-charge, Naval Branch Health Clinic Fallon, Nevada; director, dental services, Naval Hospital Pensacola, Florida and regional dental officer, Navy Medicine East.  He served as executive officer at the Navy Medicine Training Support Center in San Antonio, Texas. 

 In June 2019, he became the 40th Commanding Officer of Naval Health Clinic Corpus Christi in its 78-year history and the first Commanding Officer for the newly established Navy Medicine Readiness Training Command Corpus Christi.  Following his command tour in July 2021, CAPT Evans joined the Naval Leadership and Ethics Center staff in Newport, RI, serving as an instructor for Prospective Commanding Officers, Prospective Executive Officers, and Command Master Chiefs. 

CAPT Evans maintains board certification in the American Board of General Dentistry and is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry.  He is the recipient of the LTJG Weedon E. Osborne award for significant contributions to operational readiness while serving with the Fleet Marine Force, and he is authorized to wear the Surface Warfare Medical Department Officer Insignia.
