Lieutenant Colonel Eric Albin, a native of northeast Nebraska, was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in 2010 through the Platoon Leaders Class commissioning program.
In December 2010 he graduated from The Basic School and proceeded to Camp Johnson, NC in 2011 and following graduation from the Logistics Officer Course he reported to Combat Logistics Regiment 37 in Okinawa, Japan.
From spring 2011 to early 2013, 2ndLt Albin served as a Landing Support Platoon Commander and Landing Support Company Executive Officer. He deployed in support of various theater security engagement exercises in Australia, Philippines, Korea, Thailand, and mainland Japan. He spent his last year in Okinawa as the Assistant Operations Officer, and for a time, the Operations Officer, of CLR-37.
In November 2014, Captain Albin reported to 1st Battalion, 2d Marine Regiment for duty as the Battalion Logistics Officer, where he deployed the battalion in support of Unit Deployment Program 15.2 to Camp Schwab, Okinawa and in support of the Black Sea Rotational Force and Marine Rotational Force – Europe 17.1 in Romania and Norway. Upon redeployment, Captain Albin departed the unit and reported to II MEF Information Group for duty as the Group Logistics Officer and supported the transition from the legacy II MEF Headquarters Group.
In May 2018, Captain Albin reported to Officer Assignments, Manpower Management, Manpower and Reserve Affairs, HQMC for duty as a Company Grade Monitor and later as the Plans and Boards Officer, responsible for managing the assignments process for company grade logistics and supply officers, and later planning and managing the competitive board selection life cycle process for various non-statutory selection boards
In July 2022, Major Albin reported to the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit for duty as the Logistics Officer and twice deployed in support of Marine Rotation Force – Southeast Asia to participate in multilateral exercises in the Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia, Brunei, and Malaysia. Major Albin then reported to HQ, 1st Marine Logistics Group in summer 2024 for duty as the Current Operations Officer prior to deploying as an individual augmentee in support of the Office of Security Cooperation – Iraq as the J-4 Director and End-Use Monitoring Officer. Returning from Iraq in summer 2025, he reported to CE, I MEF for duty in the G-4 operations office responsible for planning future operations.
Lieutenant Colonel Albin reported for duty as the Commanding Officer of Combat Logistics Battalion 22 in May 2026.
Lieutenant Colonel Albin graduated from Norfolk Senior High School (2005) and holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln (2009). Additionally, he is a graduate of the U.S. Army’s Logistics Captain’s Career Course (2014) and Marine Corps Command and Staff College (2022) where he earned a Masters in Military Studies.
