Lieutenant Colonel Harold Weeks

Lieutenant Colonel Harold "Dean" Weeks Jr is from Chesterfield, VA. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in October 1999 and served in various Motor Transportation billets until he was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in May 2009. From Oct 2009 through July 2010, he attended The Basic School and Logistics Operations School (LOS). Upon graduation from LOS, he was designated a logistics officer and reported 2d Battalion, 2d Marines.

 

As a company grade officer, his operational assignments were Maintenance Management Officer, Motor Transport Officer, and Assistant Logistics Officer with 2d Battalion, 2d Marines. During this assignment, he deployed with the battalion twice: on the 22 MEU with BLT 2/2, and as the Black Sea Rotational Force 2013 (BSRF-13). Additionally, he served as the Squadron Logistics Officer, Headquarters and Services Detachment Commander, and Executive Officer with Marine Air Control Squadron-1 (MACS-1). During his time with MACS-1, Lieutenant Colonel Weeks served as the J-4 Battle Captain and Logistics Support Team (LST) OIC for the Crisis Response Element, Special Operations Command-Central as a joint individual augment.

 

As a field grade officer, his operational assignments were Operational Plans Officer, 3d Marine Division, G-3 Plans, Executive and Operations Officer, Combat Logistics Regiment (CLR) 37, and Executive Officer, CLR 27. During this time, he supported multiple Marine and Joint operational planning teams for USINDOPACOM priority Plans of Record as well as joint, combined, and bilateral exercises with Korean, Philippine, Japanese, and Taiwan Forces.

 

His supporting establishment assignment was with LOS as a FACAD for the Logistics Officer Course (LOC), H&S Company Commander, Combat Service Support Instructional Company Commander, Advance Ground Transportation Operations School OIC, and Course Manager for LOC.

 

Lieutenant Colonel Weeks is a graduate of the Combined Logistics Captains Career Course - Resident, Marine Corps Expeditionary Warfare School distance education program, US Army Command and General Staff College (CGSC), Fort Leavenworth, and the US Army School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS). Lieutenant Colonel Weeks holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Virginia Commonwealth University, a Master of Arts in Military Operations from SAMS, and a Master of Arts in Operational Studies from CGSC.

 

Lieutenant Colonel Weeks' personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with one gold star, the Navy Achievement Medal with one gold star and one combat "V", and the Combat Action Ribbon.
