Lt. Cmdr. John Steely, a medical officer with the Delaram Shock Trauma Platoon, Bravo Surgical Company, Marine Air-Ground Task Force Support Battalion 11.2, 2nd Marine Logistics Group (Forward), points out the sterilized portions of an operating table at the medical facilities aboard Forward Operating Base Delaram II, Afghanistan, Oct. 23. Emergency surgeries are performed at the Forward Resuscitative Surgical Suite, adjacent to the STP, for a variety of reasons, from gunshot wounds to automobile accidents.
