Sgt. Jonathan Vasquez, a New York City police officer and Marine with Combat Logistics Regiment 2, Regional Command (Southwest), ground guides an armored vehicle at a forward operating base in Helmand province, Afghanistan, Aug. 23, 2013. Vasquez joined the Marine Corps at the age of 17 and became a member of the New York City Police Department.
