Sergeant Douglas Smith, a unit leader at the Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center, Bridgeport, California, leads Marines from Combat Logistics Battalion 6 and 2nd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment on a three-mile hike from lower base camp to Landing Zone Quail, where they will recieve classes the mountainous environment. Marines from CLB-6 and 2/5 attended the Summer Mountain Exercise aboard Matine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center that spans a total of 21 says and teaches them how to survive in trecherous mountain terrain. Jeff Ehnen, a section leader with Explosive Ordnance Disposal Company, 8th Engineer Support Battalion, 2nd Marine Logistics Group, demonstrates the use of robots to students of Lejeune High School, Oct. 3, 2014, aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, N.C. Approximately 60 students, ranging from freshmen to seniors, packed the classroom to hear how the Marines use robotics on the battlefield and how engineering can better people’s lives. Andrew Lewis, a bulk fuel specialist with 8th Engineering Support Battalion, and Kalamazoo, Mich., native, while conducting the movement under fire portion of the Combat Fitness Test during the unit’s Jane Wayne day aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, N.C., Sept. 30, 2014. Catherine performed the MUF with a time of 3:55, which is a passing score of 88 out of 100 points. Petty Officer 3rd Class Elizabeth J. Miller, a corpsman with Combat Logistics Regiment 25 and native of Boaz, Alabama, poses for a picture in front of the 2nd Marine Logistics Group building. September 19, 2014. Larry T. Flesher, an electrical technician and native of Valdosta, Georgia crashed his car into oncoming traffic the morning of September 12, 2014 while crossing the Sneads Ferry Bridge on his way to work on Camp Lejeune. With the help of two Marines, Miller was able to pull Flesher from his car and perform first aid until the arrival of emergency medical services. Flesher lived thanks to Miller's quick thinking and composure under pressure.
