Welcome to 2d Medical Battalion, 2d Marine Logistics Group, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.  Your Marine or Sailor has asked that you be included in our Battalion Family Readiness Program, and I would like to officially welcome you to our family!

My name is Justin Smith, and I am the Deployment Readiness Coordinator (DRC) for 2d Medical Battalion.  As a retired United States Marine, I understand the stresses of daily military family life.  I am here to aid in reducing and eliminating those stresses for the unit member and family.

I am here to support and assist the unit members and their families by disseminating Official and Authorized Communication from the unit, providing Information and Referral Services for any needs of our unit members and families, provide Deployment Support, and Family Outreach.

Family Readiness has been brought to the forefront with this program, recognizing that it equips the service member and their family with the tools needed to be successful in meeting the many challenges of military life.  If you are receiving this letter, please feel free to contact me at anytime for any kind of support, information, or resources you may need.

You will receive communications via email from our Family Readiness Office periodically (usually once or twice per month).  They will be sent by myself or the Uniformed Readiness Coordinator (URC), LTJG Adina White.  These emails will provide general information concerning official communications from the unit and other authorized communication concerning trainings, classes, unit events, support and resource information, etc..

Family Readiness is the Commanding Officer’s program with the Deployment Readiness Coordinator and Uniformed Readiness Coordinator as the facilitators.  In carrying out the program, we continually need the support of volunteers within the unit.  Participating in these opportunities allows unit and family members to connect and network with other unit members and families, providing cohesion and additional support.  If you are interested in learning about our volunteer opportunities, please contact me at any time.
